Randy Rhoads is the entire reason I started playing guitar.
In my first guitar lesson, I made my teacher show me how to play “I Don’t Know”. I continued to learn every song he recorded with Ozzy, as quickly as I could. Everything else in my life became much less important compared to playing the guitar, and for the last 3 decades, playing the guitar has been the most important part of my life. That is all because of Randy Rhoads.
It’s been an incredible gift to have spent the last 5 years diving deeply into Randy’s playing on his first 2 records with Ozzy Osbourne.
With the isolated guitar tracks released from those records, it’s brought a lot of parts to light that never made it into tablature books. Though, there are some great tablature books out there, many of them are missing a lot of parts & unfortunately have some other parts wrong. To get as close to what Randy played as possible, I spent almost 5 years putting together this instructional series, by listening to the slowed down isolated tracks, alongside cross referencing all of the trusted tabs out there.
I’m excited to share the results with you in these lessons.
There are several instructionals out there showing the notes that Randy played, and as odd as it may sound, the notes he played are only part of what made him stand out & defined his playing.
In addition to showing the notes & techniques that Randy played & used, I aim to help other guitarists understand the importance of passion in your playing & in your pursuit of music. Most importantly, the passion you have to have every time you pick up your guitar. That & that alone will help You stand out.
